How to Use The Law of Abundance

The Law of Abundance states that there is enough wealth in the world for everyone to have enough money and resources to live fulfilling lives. Money is a resource that we need to live. The world as it is today requires that we have a certain amount of money to live without constantly worrying or working to make ends meet. Most importantly, having money frees our minds to create a better world. When your time is not spent worrying about money, it gives you a chance to create opportunities for others, and to develop better products and services.

If there is enough wealth for everyone to live worry-free, then why do we still have poverty, hunger, debt and people living one paycheck from being homeless? The answer once again it is our dominant thoughts. It is hard to say, “Do not worry about the fact you do not have the money to pay your rent next month.” What is worrying going to get you? Nothing, all worrying does is make you focus on what is lacking. When you are not worrying about your problems you spend the rest of the time talking about it, but all your worrying words and thoughts do is deprive you of the wealth that is rightfully. But it is a “Catch 22” in my opinion, Continue Reading »

Lyrics to My Favorite Self-Help Song

Lyrics to My Favorite Self-Help Song: Everybody’s Free (to wear sunscreen)

I love this song so much, I must have listened to it a thousand times. A cautionary note for impressionable minds: be careful of self-fulfilling prophecies, because if you believe some of what is said here, like everything else in life, you might just invite something you did not want into your life. Still the advice is solid and everyone is free to wear sunscreen. :) He also gives a disclaimer at the end of the song, which I absolutely love. The lyrics are just as much fun to read. Please without further ado I present: Everybody’s Free (to wear sunscreen) by Quindon Tarver or Baz Luhrmann Lyrics depending of the CD you get…

The Sunscreen Song – Everybody’s Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
“Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ‘99, Wear Sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.

I will dispense this advice now.

Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded. But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. Continue Reading »

Learn to Control Your Thoughts and Change your life

“The mind has exactly the same power as the hands; not merely to grasp the world, but to change it.” -Colin Wilson

How can you change your life? The answer is simple, with the power of your mind. All that you have created in your life originated from your thoughts. I often hear how hard or impossible it is to control your thoughts but the opposite it true, you can control your thoughts all it takes is a lot more vigilance and hard work than you expected. Then it becomes second nature and hard work part is gone, but the vigilance is eternal, i.e. you never stop controlling your thought.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. – Thomas Jefferson (1743 – 1826)

Using the power of the mind is what personal development is all about. You decide to take control of your life by making Continue Reading »

Before You Make a Decision Ask Can I Afford It

Ask yourself: Am I overextending myself? Do I have the time and money to do this?

Learn to control your spending and manage your time to help you reduce the unnecessary stress of overextending yourself. Yes, you are a good person but you have to learn that in some situations you can put your needs before the needs of other.

You overextend yourself…

  • If you are not sure you can afford or want to join in an activity i.e. hanging out with friends and having a $200 dinner, drinks and dancing night then you should ask yourself the question before saying yes or no to hanging out.
  • If an invitation to a party is going to cost you food money for the month either on a present or the party outfit then you need to know before hand. You can either pull out something from your closet, I am sure you have something to wear. As for the present get something reasonable there are fantastic items that cost less than $20. However, if your groceries for the week cost $20 (it happens) then buy a card and forget bread for the week.
  • If you said yes to a visit to Aunty Mary’s to help her clear out her garage this weekend before you remember that you had planned to catch up on that huge project for work then you are overextending yourself and you are the only one going to pay the consequences. The other option would have been to figure out exactly what your priorities were for the weekend and then offer to help Aunty Mary next weekend.
  • If you said yes to houseguests on the busiest week of your year, then you need to read this.

There are no problems with any of the activities listed above. They only become problems when you Continue Reading »

Create the Ideal You: Learn How to Reinvent Yourself

You wake up one morning and realize that the person you used to be is just plain gone and I mean gone in a good way because it was time for change. You spent so much time trying to fix what you thought was broken about yourself by keeping positive and giving thanks for every small success, all the while knowing in the back of your mind you could always do better. Then one day you find all your hard work has paid off, you are no longer the person you used to be. You are shedding the old and it now time to create the new.

What do you do when you do wake up and the person you used to be is just plain gone? The attitude, the style, the life that person lived no longer works for you. What do you do when you wake up and your life is an empty page? A clean slate (Tabular Rasa,) an opportunity to really create the person you have always wanted to be. You might be confused at first, or let me say you will be confused at first but here are a few suggestions to guide you through this journey. Continue Reading »

Doing the Right Thing

“When you do things right people won’t be sure you have done anything at all.”
God – On an episode (Godfellas) of Futurama, first aired March 17, 2002.

I love it when I get pearls of wisdom from cartoons, maybe later I will tell you what I learn about enlightenment from Bart Simpson, I will definitely tell you how The Avatar cartoon inspired something I plan on writing about Chakras.

But back to the quote, I often watch people that go around tooting their own horns and thoughts of some form of mild insanity come to my mind when I think of them. Granted most people who go around tooting their own horn are some of the most self-centered ego-driven human beings on the planet, well let’s just say the ones I have in my life, I really can’t speak for you. You Can Always Ask For More So Why Don’t You

Beautiful day today in New York City, crossing the street I ran into a cop who said hello and goes “nice day isn’t?” I agreed because it was a nice day. Then I give the standard respond to niceties and asked “How are you doing?” He says, “Can’t complain, we have beautiful weather (yes, it is January in NYC and the weather is glorious), gas prices are low and it’s quite around here, what can I say.” And then I say, “You couldn’t ask for more.” And he says, “Oh yes you can.” I was taken aback and responded, “Yes, you can.” We spoke for a few minutes and I had to cross the street. It was a very lovely conversation and it stuck with me the entire day: Yes, you can ask for more. So why do we settle? Why do we not ask for more?

Wayne Dyer once said in one of his seminars he said, “The Universe will give you everything you want, you just have to ask.” He said, “Think of the abundance available to you like the water in the ocean, you can either go collect it with a teaspoon or you can take a truck.” Continue Reading »

Make this Year All about You

What do you want? What do you need? How can you get it?

Make this year all about taking care of your needs. If you are reading this, you either agree with me or really, really need to take care of yourself. You never need to justify the need to put yourself first unless you are one of millions of people who puts the needs of others before theirs. This is not to say you should become that selfish, self-centered Me, Me, Me person we know and wonder why we are friends with. I just want to dedicate something to the perpetual giver it is time to take something for yourself.

    How do you do this?
  • Don’t always be the last to pick anything? You deserve it just as much as anyone else.
