22 Money Myths You Should Know

In the spirit of Financial Literacy Month, I thought I should share this interesting blog from Ririan Project aptly named 22 Useless Myths That Can Cost You Money. Though the myths may be useless the insight provided in response to each myth is priceless. Even if you don’t agree with me, at least reading the myths will trigger thoughts you may have with regards to the 22 money myths.

Myth #6: “Money can’t buy happiness and money won’t make you happy.
“In fact, very rich people rate substantially higher in satisfaction with life than very poor people do, even within wealthy nations. “There is overwhelming evidence that money buys happiness,” said economist Andrew Oswald of the University of Warwick in England.”

Financial literacy is not just learning about the latest investment strategy on Wall Street, it is taking a look at your life financially. What beliefs or behaviors do you have that are holding you back? What are you doing that is working great? What can you start to change today to create a better financial future for yourself? Financial Literacy Month is an opportunity to think and start implementing some of what you are learning in your everyday life.

Good Luck,

I couldn’t agree more about Myth 6 – it’s a lot easier to feel relaxed and be able to enjoy life when you’re not getting stressed out about money problems.
