Boost Your Productivity and Have a Laugh
Steve Pavlina has done it again, but if you know Steve, or I should say know of Steve Pavlina, then that should not be a surprise. This time he has come up with “33 Rules to Boost Productivity” (A three volume series: I especially liked volume 3).
I read part one and was overwhelmed before I got to number five, simply because he was right and I needed to implement all 33 rules in my life. Then he wrote a second post on 33 rules and I thought “No, I will resist.” Then today I turn my computer on and there he is again with a third post on 33 Rules to Boost Your Productivity. I know Steve is super human but dear God! Where does he find the time? I started reading volume three and laughed my head off. I love, love, loved it. Here is a sample:
Volume 3, Rule 14
“Captain Kirk. If you boldly and brazenly act like you know what you’re doing, people will assume it’s true. Use this strategy to get promoted to the point where you can delegate all your work to those who really know what they’re doing. Orion slave girls are standing by.” – Steve Pavlina
Coming from someone who has lived and “thought” like an adult for most of my adult life Rule 14 is a fact, the choice is up to you, you can be Captain Kirk or an Orion Slave Girl. I learned my lesson you can call me Captain Kirk. I am going to have to ask Steve what exact role the Orion slave girls play in this equation cause I do know Captain Kirk and I doubt they will doing any “work”.
After reading all 33 rules on volume 3, I decided it was time to go back and implement at least 33 of the 99 Rules that he has written so far. If he writes another one tomorrow, I am sending him a personal email and thanking him for raising the bar for those of us yet to find the bar, much less try to jump over it.
Seriously, implement just a couple of these rules will and you will see a notable difference in your productivity. I know Steve’s work and he is usually spot on.
